Brief: Prove Lenovo’s technology can empower people to work from anywhere in the world.

Idea: The remotest office in the world. ‘Work For Humankind’ invited volunteers to do their day jobs from Robinson Crusoe Island. In their free time they used their unique skills to upskill this previously disconnected community and help endangered wildlife. 

Results:

  • 5,000 entries worldwide. and 1,000 volunteer hours

  • 2.5bn global earned reach

  • Internet 200 x faster and 100% increase in connectivity to schools

  • 415,000 camera trap images taken daily for conservation (months of work to hours)

  • 17 critically endangered and vulnerable tree statuses improved
